The Tigers Room is our new lodge where the emphasis is on preparation for reception class at First School. It is a brand new, lovely open space with big windows and a veranda stepping down onto a fully enclosed lawn and Nature Garden.
The Lodge
(September before they begin school)
Children spend their final year at Phoenix Childcare in the Lodge. The Lodge is a beautiful timber building equipped especially for pre-school children. It has large double opening doors onto a balcony area where there is a combination of free play and focused activities.
There is a garden area with a willow wigwam, planting area and a woodland nature garden where Forest School sessions take place.
In The Lodge children work on building independence and self-confidence. There is a strong focus on School readiness and the children regularly practice Phonics, letter recognition and early writing and mark making.
All children leave to reception at the same time.
