Pupil Premium

The aim of the Early Years Pupil Premium is to support early years settings to be able to provide the same opportunities to children with disadvantaged backgrounds as their peers, which normally may not be possible.

Eligibility:

All children aged three and four (not two-year olds), who meet the eligibility criteria will benefit from the funding.

The Early Years Pupil Premium provides an extra 53 pence per hour on top of the Free Entitlement for three and four-year-old children whose parents are in receipt of certain benefits or who have been in care or adopted from care. This means an extra £302 a year for each child taking up the full 570 hours funded entitlement to early education.

In order to be able to claim this funding we require parents to sign the funding agreement which asks for details of parent’s date of birth and National Insurance number.

For more information, please refer to the Government Website.

Pupil Premium Expenditure

As an Early Years setting, can choose to allocate the funds in a way we feel they will be most beneficial to the child. This will be assessed through careful observation and assessment and discussions with the parents/carers.

We review all pupil premium expenditures on a on-going basis involving the parents along the way to ensure the most effective use of the funding to have maximum benefit to the child.
