Hours & Opening Times
Phoenix Nursery opening hours are 8am – 6pm (Monday-Friday)
*We are able to to open from 7:30am – 8pm, however this is charged at a premium rate, has limited availability, and requires prior authorization.
Allocation of Funded Hours
2 – 4 year olds in receipt of 15 hours funding
You are able to book a maximum of 7.5 funded hours per day between the hours of 8:30am – 4pm. For any additional hours or times outside of this, you will be charged at an hourly rate.
3 – 4year olds in receipt of 15 hours funding
You are able to book a maximum of 6 funded hours per day between the hours of 9am – 3pm. For any additional hours or times outside of this, you will be charged at an hourly rate.
Enrichment Fee 3 – 4 Year Funded Only
For children that attend funded sessions, there will be a daily £5 charge. This cost will help to cover snacks, tea, leaning resources, art and craft activities, cooking ingredients, etc.
Children in receipt of EYPP will be exempt from this charge.
Hourly Fees
These fees apply when you book time/ additional hours outside of the above.
Your funded hours can only be applied to bookings during term time. You will be charged either a session rate or hourly fee, whichever is the cheapest option, for any hours booked outside of term time.
Our term time is 38 weeks in total. Which are split as follows: Spring Term 11 weeks, Summer Term 13 weeks and Autumn Term 14 weeks.
Additional Charges & Rates
Early Care
We offer childcare between 7:30am – 8am which is charged at a premium rate of £7.00 including breakfast. To discuss this, please speak to a member of the team on application. Funded hours cannot be used for this premium service.
Funded Lunch
As part of Enrichment Fee – Breakfast, Snacks & Tea are included. Children must bring a packed lunch. This needs to be provided in a cool bad with an ice block. Phoenix Childcare is not able to preheat food nore can we be held responsible for any food brought in by parents/carers.
We are a nut-free nursery, please do not send any food in packed lunch boxes that may contain nuts.
Hot lunches are available to pre-order termly. Please speak to one of the management for further information.
Additional Activities & Charges
Phoenix Childcare offers a range of additional chargeable activities which your child can choose to take part in, such as Golf Lessons and any trips or visits.
Pupil Premium
From 2011, publicly-funded schools in England get extra funding from the government to help them improve the attainment of their disadvantaged pupils.
Evidence shows that children from disadvantaged backgrounds:
- Generally face extra challenges in reaching their potential at school.
- Often do not perform as well as their peers.
The pupil premium grant is designed to allow schools to help disadvantaged pupils by improving their progress and the exam results they achieve. Please refer to ‘Payment Of Childcare’ Section.

Additional Notes For Funded Places
To be eligible for funded hours, you must supply Phoenix Childcare with your eligibility code every 3 months. Funding is NOT automatically renewed; it is the responsibility of the parent/carer to submit the code.
Additional funded hours cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts offers by Phoenix Childcare, such as sibling discount.
Children are only eligible for early years funding the term following their third birthday. As an example, if your child turns three in October their funding will not be valid until the following term starting in January.
Funded hours cannot be used until we have received and processed your eligibility code. It is the responsibility of the parent to submit their eligibility code on time.
Before processing your early years funding, it is now mandatory to receive a copy of your child’s birth certificate.
Voucher Payments
We are currently registered with several voucher companies, for more information speak to the nursery administrator.
Tax-Free Childcare
Newly-launched in 2017, the government now offer a Tax-Free childcare scheme replacing the original childcare voucher scheme. This new scheme allows you to receive supposrt and make payments through an online childcare account. We are pleased to say that Phoenix Childcare will be taking payment through this scheme should you chase to sign up.
