Outdoor Nursery Areas

At Phoenix Childcare, we’re fortunate enough to have our children’s nursery sit within 150 acres of golf course at Gaudet Luce Golf & Leisure Complex, and we make the most of every inch of it. Being surrounded by open green space, mature trees, and fresh air isn't just a lovely backdrop for us, it shapes the way children spend their days here.

Our Nursery Areas for Outdoor Play & Learning

Across our two gardens and two outdoor classrooms, there's plenty for children to get stuck into. We've got a mud kitchen for messy play, a bug area for exploring, a hill and tunnel for climbing and racing about, climbing frames and slides, and a castle for imaginative play. Our babies have their own separate outdoor space too, so even our youngest children get to enjoy the outdoors with activities suited to them.

Why We Prioritise Outdoor Time

Kids need to move, and they need space to do it in. Being outdoors regularly helps children build strength and confidence, gives them the chance to play more freely, and lets them burn off energy in a way that's genuinely good for them, physically and emotionally. It's also just more fun. Muddy hands and rosy cheeks at pick up time are usually a sign of a good day.

We don't treat outdoor play as a bonus for sunny afternoons. It's built into the everyday routine here, whatever the weather.

What Makes Our Children’s Day Nursery Setting Different

Not many nurseries can say they're based on a working golf course. Being part of Gaudet Luce means our children have access to space, greenery, and scenery that most nurseries simply don't have room for, all within a safe, secure setting built just for them. It's one of the reasons families across the local area choose us.

Outdoor Learning, Not Just Outdoor Play

Our outdoor nursery classrooms mean the outdoors isn't just for playtime. Stories, activities, and group sessions happen outside just as often as they do inside, so learning and outdoor time go hand in hand rather than being treated as two separate parts of the day.
